Overcoming Difficulties a Couple May Have in Conceiving a Child

Marriage is the holy union of a man and a woman and is considered the most pious relationship in the world, irrespective of the part of the world people come from. The concept of you and I is combined to become us and the beauty of this relationship can not be expressed in words. On entering wedlock, a couple builds their dreams together and works towards the completion of the same as a single entity.

However if a couple is unable to conceive a child, it could take away some amount of happiness from their married life. Infertility is unduly an issue and a matter of concern for a large number of people at all places in the world. But it is a problem that can be in many cases and we can find innumerable instances wherein a couple has been able to get over infertility and conceive a child, even if that happens many years after their marriage. If a couple is unable to conceive soon after marriage, it does not mean that they will not conceive a few years beyond. We can find examples wherein a woman has been able to give birth to a child even a decade or beyond after the wedlock. Even though birth of a child is but a matter of divine custody, keeping the faith enables couples to go the distance.

Sex enhancers are considered a taboo in the society in most parts of the world and if a couple is encountered with such a problem, an orally consumable sex enhancer is often the last thing on their mind. The general belief at all places in the world is that sex enhancers always have side effects and their utility positions only for a short duration of time. Moreover, there are psychological issues related with sex enhancers and people prefer to stay away from such products. It has overtheless been proven in innumerable cases that a sex enhancer can help couples access issues even as delicate as not being able to conceive a child.

It is nowdays possible to find certain sex enhancers that are herbal, yet very effective and free from all side effects. Alternately, if something like a simple sex enhancer is capable of helping a couple conceive and welcome one of the greatest joys of our existence into their lives, there is no reason why they should not try out such a remedy. While recognizing and understanding the seriousness and delicacy of the issue involved, even doctors recommend orally consumable sex enhancers to couples in many such cases.

Three Key Ways to Overcome Female Hair Loss

1. Discuss your concerns with your GP and a hair loss expert – not just your hairdresser

It is often the case that an your hairdresser would spot a hair loss problem in the first instance. While a hairdresser may be able to suggest whether or not the problem is cause for concern, only a qualified hair loss expert and your GP will be able to provide a recommendation or diagnosis. There are many forms of hair loss including alopecia areata (patchy hair loss); trichotillomania (hair loss caused by manually tugging out hair); traction alopecia caused by tight ponytails or braiding; telogen effluvium – excess thinning caused by a particular event eg pregnancy, or alopecia totalis – total hair loss. The expert has the knowledge and means to provide a solution or remedy.

2. Consult a qualified Trichologist

The word Trichology comes from the Greek word “trichos” which means hair and trichology is the study of the hair and scalp. If you notice your hair thinning, you should seek expert advice immediately. Research reveals that prompt action can in some cases reverse or halt the problem before it worsens. A session with a qualified trichologist will help diagnose your condition. A typical session involves taking a strand of any existing hair and evaluating it under the microscope. Analysis can reveal many factors which provide clues to the loss – these include: hormone levels (eg a high presence of Cortisol, a stress hormone, can affect hair growth); vitamin and nutrient content; protein levels – Keratin is a key component of hair and it is required to maintain healthy growth). Ultimately, healthy growth depends on blood flow to the hair follicle. This is supplied by blood vessels in the bottom of the follicle called the dermal papillae. Stimulating blood flow, for example by massage, can help the problem but your trichologist will prescribe treatment qualified to you.

3. Be open-minded to ALL hair replacement solutions before choosing one that's right for you

It is human nature to have in mind one particular route to overcoming hair loss. For women, clip-in hair extensions or bonded real-hair extensions are a popular first choice. This is because the results can be a fuller, thicker head of hair. Unfortunately however, if your hair has fallen out in patches, hair extensions might not be a viable solution (hair extensions rarely attached to hair strands across the entire scalp). A hair transplant is another popular choice as it's a form of permanent hair restoration but this relationships the quality of existing or 'donor' hair which is taken from the back of the head. Partial hair pieces are often overlooked as an excellent way to overcome hair loss. A non-surgical process called 'Hair Integration' involves blending real hair (attached to a piece) with your own and the results are instant. Nowadays, ladies wigs are incredibly sophisticated and natural-looking. There are literally thousands of products from which to choose. Excellent quality ready-to-wear synthetic or real hair wigs are available in almost limitless ranges of colors and styles. Custom-made wigs can of course be designed with your natural hairline, mix of colors, style and lifestyle in mind. Many people ask when human hair wigs are better than synthetic wigs but the answer is: it depends! Real hair wigs generally tend to offer more styling versatility but are more expensive. Synthetic hair fiber is so advanced that it looks and feels like real hair. Many females seeking a hair replacement will often find themselves opting for a solution they had not previously considered. Usually, the end result is a solution that brings newfound confidence too. So, we would always suggest keeping an open mind in the beginning of your journey.

How to Tell Your Current Bra Size 36A Is Not Right for You

Our bra is our constant companion and it is something that we have with us every day. If you are not wearing the right size, it can lead to discomfort and in some cases, may even damage your breast tissue and cause stretch marks or sacking. Most people are going to focus on being fitted for a bra properly and this can certainly have some benefit. It is also a good idea for you to recognize the signs that your current bra size may not be the right size. If you have been fitted with a 36a bra, here are some ways for you to determine if it is the wrong size for you.

Check the Straps – Many women tend to feel that the straps are not fitting properly because they have smaller shoulders. This is especially true for women who are petite and may have a smaller bust size. The fact is, however, the shoulder straps and other straps on the bra should fit properly if the bra is the right size. If you find that you have to adjust the straps to the point where they are cutting into your shoulders, you are wearing a bra that is the wrong size. In essence, you are forging the straps to support your breasts, a job that is better left to the cups.

Check the Hooks – Most bras come with several different hooks in order to provide some adjustment in the band size. If you constantly wear your bra and attach it in the last clasp, you are wearing a bra that is too loose. Regardless of whether you wear it on the first or the last clasp, it should still provide some support for you. If you have a bra and can pull it at least one inch away from your body (without stretching it), you need to reduce your bra size. Another possibility is that the bra strap itself has been worn out, in which case you need to purchase another one.

Check for Bulges – One of the issues that is often a problem for women is sometimes referred to as armpit boobs. This occurs when the straps of the bra do not fit properly on your side and it forms bulges. This is a combination of problems, including a large band and a small cup size. Your entire breast should fit into the cup and it should support the breast tissue. If you are not wearing the proper size bra, your breast tissue could have forced backwards, causing the bulges which are unattractive.

Check for Wrinkles – One other indication that you are wearing the wrong bra size is the possibility of wrinkles. If there is any puckering or wrinkles that form in the cups of the bra or if there is extra fabric at the top, it is going to make it difficult for you to wear clothes without it showing. If you have this difficulty, you should reduce your cup size to get rid of the wrinkles but do not reduce it so much that you are uncomfortable.

Breast Augmentation: After-Care and Recovery

You need to take good care of yourself after your breast enhancement surgery. Irrespective of the breast implants you have chosen, saline or silicone, for your breastfeeding augmentation, the post surgery recovery process and time is more or less the same. For the surgeon to monitor the post-op conditions of the patient, they need to stay at least for a few hours, in the post-op recovery room.

Patients who have undergone breast augmentation surgery can return home the very same day. However, breast augmentation combined with any other surgical process may require an overnight stay at the hospital. After their discharge from the hospital, it is up to the patients to carefully adhere to post-op recovery instructions, which are as follows:

• Soreness and swelling are a common occurrence after the surgery. These can be reduced by applying ice packs on the affected areas.

• You need not be concerned about the scars as they tend to fade away over a period of time although not completely.

• You may be asked to wear a support garment (bra) after the surgery at least for a few weeks, in order to help the breasts heal completely and to provide support.

• Proper sleep is a must as sleep deprivation significantly slows down the process of healing. In order to speed up the healing process, you should sleep more in the first 1 or 2 weeks after the surgery. A heating pad should be kept handy for alleviating back discomfort caused by excess sleeping.

• Medication, as prescribed by the surgeon, should be sincerely followed. As some of the medicines are likely to cause nausea, maintaining a healthy diet and drinking lots of water will help solve the problem.

• You should remain cautious about post-op symptoms such as redness or inflammation of the breasts, fever, hot breasts or any kind of infections and flu like symptoms.

What to Avoid After Breast Augmentation

Drinking alcohol and smoking should be strictly avoided until completely healed, as it may interfere with the medications you are taking.

Playing any kind of sports, joyrides in amusement parks and any kind of bending activities should be kept at bay at least for some time.

Lifting of heavy items weighing over 5 pounds should be avoided.

Ensure to keep away from stressful situations as far as possible.

Consulting your surgeon before taking any kind of medicines is a must as some medications may interfere with your healing process.

Causes and Effects of Anemia During Pregnancy

The incidence of anemia during pregnancy is a common, but rarely serious complication. Its incidence varies broadly according to the criteria used for diagnosis.

Anemia is defined as decreasing the amount of the protein hemoglobin or oxygen-carrying red blood cells in the blood. It is considered that anemia during pregnancy when the amount of this blood protein is less than 11 grams per decilitre.

Pregnancy is a condition which predisposes to a number of changes in the blood, mainly because it increases the amount of fluid circulating through the blood vessels, which causes some thinning of the blood and red blood cells. Mild forms of this anemia, the most common, are considered physiological, and therefore are not appreciated.

Usually no other tests are needed.

How is it treated this disorder?

The treatment of this disorder is logically deficient mineral administration, in this case iron. It is usually given as tablets or ferrous salt by drinking ampules, usually from anemia is diagnosed until it resolves over gestation and often also in the postpartum period.

In any case, as we noted earlier, preventive measures such as proper nutrition and extra iron supplements can prevent the development of anemia.

Other types of anemia

Although the most common cause of anemia during pregnancy is iron deficiency, other types of anemia that highlight produced by a lack of vitamin B12 and is called Megaloblastic anemia because RBCs are larger than normal. Treatment of this type of anemia is administration of vitamin B12, which must be given intramuscular since vitamin B12 would have been destroyed in the stomach where orally administrator.

There are other types of anemia varied (as produced by folic acid deficiency), fortunately rare and will not address in this article.

How to Have a Confident Body Image

Body image anxiety is nothing new. For centuries of years women have been bombarded with images of fashionable bodies and ways to achieve them. Victorian women valued a tiny waist and a curvaceous bottom; whereas being stick thin with legs on show, epitomised the Sixties. Today we have considerable choice and freedom of expression. It's never been easier to find fashion that fits our color, shape and size. Yet more than ever women are anxious about the way they look.

So how can we learn to accept, if not love, our body?

Research by Professor Nichola Rumsey, (University of the West of England) shows that children as young as five can show understanding of body image judgments. By seven they are beginning to show body dissatisfaction and by adulthood, 90% of British women have body image anxiety. This appears to be a lifelong issue as many women in their 80's are still concerned about the way their bodies look.

Experts continue to debate the factors which have led us to have this focus on looks. In the meanime the effects of body image anxiety on women, in terms of stress, eating disorders and even depression, increases. So in a world where many models and celebrities are a size zero how do you stay body positive?

When I was growing up there was not one woman in my environment who I heard saying something positive about their body. why I only talk positively about my body in front of my daughter . ” Kate Winslet

12 ways to love and accept your body:

1. Get new role models that you can actually imitate. Choose them for reasons other than appearance such as their work ethic, generosity or determination.

2. Avoid fashion magazines which contain unrealistic versions of what celebrities and models actually look like.

3. Avoid negative self-talk about your body. Start focusing on the parts you do like.

4. Treat yourself as your best friend. You would not call your best friend names such as 'fat' or 'wrinkly' so do not do it to yourself.

5. Do not compare yourself to others. You'll always be putting someone down, either yourself or the other person. Both will have a bad effect on your self-esteem.

6. Eat balanced meals, get moderate exercise and be outside more.

7. Throw away the scales. They are just a number and not a measure of your self-worth. If you want to measure something, measure your generosity, number of friends, education or determination.

8. List the things you like about your appearance. You may find this tricky at first, but with practice, when you look in the mirror you'll only see the positives.

9. When you receive a compliment reply with a sincere 'Thank You' then take it to heart and believe it.

10. Stop trying to achieve your perfect body. It is an unattainable goal that will only make you feel like a disappointment or a failure. If you want to lose weight set yourself a realistic goal you can maintain.

11. Understand that you're not alone in feeling this way. Many other women are struggling to be happy with the way they look. However it is a goal you can achieve.

12. Remember you are an exceptional and beautiful individual and any 'flaws' you have are really just reasons why you are unique.

Cellulite has plagued men and women for years. However, females are more prone to these bumps and lumps. There are theories as to why people get them. Is Joint Pain An Early Sign of Pregnancy?

Pregnant women suffer from a number of symptoms that serve as an early warning sign of their pregnancy. They gain weight, notice changes to their appetite, suffer from morning sickness and miss their periods. Although most women are aware of these symptoms, they do not know about some of the other symptoms that they might feel. Joint pain is one of the few symptoms of pregnancy that most women experience during their first trimester without realizing that it has a connection to their pregnancy.

Where Does the Pain Come From?

The body discovers that it's pregnant long before the woman does. A woman may not take a pregnancy test until she's already six to eight weeks pregnant, and some women go months without knowing that they're pregnant. From the moment the body realizes that it's pregnant, it begins producing more hormones and making changes that will make delivery easier. That increase in hormones can lead to pain in the lower back and in some of the joints through the body. Most women notice pain in their lower bodies, and this pain comes about as the body loosens the joints in preparation for delivery.

How Can Pregnant Women Treat Their Pain?

The pain that most women feel in their joints is a dull ache that they feel early in the morning, but some women deal with more intense pain that lasts through the day. Acetaminophen is generally safe for pregnant women, but some doctors will recommend ibuprofen, which can reduce swelling in the joints. Women who do not want to take medication can try massages to alleviate their pain. Chiropractic care can also come in handy for those who notice that the pain intensifies through their pregnancies. Heating pads and resting can also make pregnant women feel better and reduce the pain that they feel in their joints.

Is There Any Way to Avoid it?

The pain that most women feel only lasts through the first trimester. This pain is an early warning sign of pregnancy, and once the body adjusts to the increase in hormones, the pain goes away on its own. Some women find that they struggle with pain through their pregnancies as their joints swell due to the increase in body weight. Exercising is one of the best ways to alleviate pain and avoid the pain. Exercising keeps joints and muscles healthy, and women who are in good shape before becoming pregnant often suffer from less pain. Resting often and eating healthy can also help women reduce the pain they feel.

When to See an Orthopedic Doctor

Although pain in the joints is a normal sign of pregnancy, it can indicate a medical condition called symphysis pubis dysfunction. This condition occurs when the fetus frequently moves and shifts positions, and it can make labor and delivery difficult. Women should talk to a doctor if they notice that their pain does not go away after a few months or if the pain intensifies. Pain that increases throughout the day, pain moves around the body and pain that remains after rest and other home methods can all indicate a more serious problem. A doctor can diagnose the problem and offer suggestions on how to treat the condition at home.

Joint pain is one of the few symptoms of pregnancy that most women do not talk about with their friends. This pain indicates that a woman is pregnant, but in most cases, the pain disappears towards the end of the first trimester or early in the second trimester. Those concerned about the pain they feel should talk to their doctor and ask for advice on dealing with the pain.

3 Easy Tips to Increase Fertility Naturally

If you have been trying to get pregnant with no luck than these 3 easy tips to increase fertility naturally will help you on your journey to motherhood. Having to guess what might help can be a slow route to having your own baby. Following these steps described below will create a fertile environment for your reproductive system.

The first easy tip is to eat plenty of vegetables and fruit. Consuming a variety of nutritious foods will provide you with the essential nutrients, vitamins and extra support to balance your hormones, temperature and sleeping habits. These three things alone will increase your fertility and make you feel much better. Be sure to eat plenty of green veggies and a variety of color from all fruit and veggies. Each color represents a variety of nutrients and vitamins to create a healthy body. On the flipside, avoid toxins, processed foods and limit your caffeine. These three things will create an imbalance of your hormones.

The second tip is to find an app which tracks your ovulation and put it on your phone or computer. There are a few days in which you will be able to conceive each month so you want to know for sure which days to take action. Be sure to take your temperature every morning at the same time. Without the app tracker, you will be playing the lotto with a 3 to 30 chance of conceiving. Do you really want those odds? Play smart and find an ovulation app online. One of my favorite tracking apps is the OvuView which you can find while searching that term on Google.

The final tip is to make an appointment to see your family doctor. Ask him / her as many questions as possible to help you understand the process of getting pregnant. Make sure your doctor tests your hormone levels, blood sugar and any potential diseases such as hepatitis and HIV. Your doctor should also test certain hormones during your menstrual cycle to make sure your levels are within normal range during that timeframe. It is normal for your hormone levels to change at different times of the month.

If you implement these three easy steps then you will increase your chances of getting pregnant quickly. Remember to eat healthy, find your favorite ovulation tracker app and see your family doctor. Investing in a healthy lifestyle now before you get pregnant will give you peace of mind for you and your future baby.

The Fat Burners For Women

Almost all women who have been pregnant have come across this problem. After the baby is born they still have the baby belly fat. The big question is, is there a way to lose baby belly fat?

The answer is yes, although it takes hard work and dedication. Now it helps if you have good genes and your belly just comes back to its natural size, however most of the time it does not work like that.

Now, some people can reduce body fat rather quickly and have it removed medically. Well, not everyone can afford this and a lot of people just want to this the natural way and the safest way in my opinion.

The natural way and safest way would have been an ideal protein weight loss program and good exercise program. These two options are a whole lot more more affordable and safer than going under the knife.

Now finding the right diet program or weight loss drinks are easier said than done, and actually it may take a few tries until you find what is right for you. The same could be said with the exercise program. You want to find something that works and that is fun at the same time.

One way to make this transition a little easier is finding a person or group to do this with. If you think about it, you are going from eating anything you want for nine months to being on a strict diet and exercise program. Having people along with you can make this go a whole lot smoother.

As far as your diet goes, this would be a tough one to narrow down despite, going with a lean protein diet such as chicken breast, turkey breast, and egg white. Cutting down on your carbs would also help you out.

One positive thing about this type of diet is that you can eat several times a day and it does not hurt you. The reason behind it is because the more you have on your stomach the higher your metabolism rate will be which in turn makes you burn more calories.

Now for your exercise program, this can consist of a high energy workout such as cardio or jogging. Another form of exercising that would help out on the belly fat would be any type of core work out. That would include a variety of crunches a person could do.

Now you have your team in place, your diet and exercise program together. Now it's time to tackle this head on, and get to where you want to be and leave the baby belly fat to your baby.

Easy Ways To Make Your Hands Stronger for Shooting Your Concealed Weapon

As anyone woman who has ever been shooting knows, a female's hands can get tired from all that trigger pulling and gun toting. Here are some easy ideas to strengthen your gun shooting hand without having to hit the gym to do it.

  1. Gardening. Pulling weeds, digging and planting are all great exercises for strengthening the muscles in the hands and arms.
  2. Snow shoveling. If you live in a seasonal weather state, shoveling snow and raking leaves are great opportunities to exercise your hands. Dress appropriately and wear gloves to avoid blisters or frostbite.
  3. Crafts. By engaging in a variety of crafts, such as knitting, embroidery, or scrapbooking, you will flex the muscles in your hand, keeping them agile. Although making crafts might not strengthen your hands, it will make your hands more flexible.
  4. Dry fire practice. The tried and true method to strengthen your hand and it will not cost you a bucket of money in ammo. Or, alternatively, try practicing with airsoft guns, a less expensive alternative to live ammo. Either way, using your hands will strengthen your muscles.
  5. Practice your draw. If you've chosen to use a conceal carry purse to hide a weapon, regularly practice your quick draw, aim and shoot. You can also dry fire practice, saving the expense of ammo.
  6. Dishwashing. No, do not wash them with a dishwasher. Wash your dishes the old fashioned way, in the kitchen sink. Not many of us do this anymore, but all the swishing and lifting are good movements for both hands and arms.
  7. Lifting. If your kids are little (even if they do not feel so little), lifting and carrying them frequently will get your arms toned quickly. You'll be amazed how strong you become when you have children.
  8. Swimming. If you have a pool or a nearby lake or water area, take some time to swim laps or engage in splash play. Water activities will strengthen your arm muscles and enable you to have a steady grip.
  9. Flexibility. Keep your hands nimble and your fingers flexible by playing cards, drawing with pencils or crayons, shooting rubber bands at targets or at the wall, braiding your hair or even sorting clothes and tieing socks together inside out. You want your fingers to be strong but also nimble.

By exercising your hands, fingers and arms on a daily basis, you will be fit and strong every time you ready your weapon for a day at the gun range.

Tired Mom: Are You A Tired Mom?

If you are a mom of one child or multiple, your job requires that you are available 24 hours / 7 days a week / 365 days a year. Breaks are few and far between when you are a stay-at-home mom or work outside of the home. As a tired mom, you are constantly asking yourself “is there a better way to get through my day?” Well if you are, then you may be making some of these common mistakes.

1. Are you living on caffeine just to get through the day?

Moms are the busiest and most sleep deprived people. The daily routine of many mothers can be daunting. Moms put most all of their energy and efforts towards making sure that the kids are taken care of, fed, and presentable. Moms make sure that the kids are to school, practices and sporting events on time. Your energy is running low, so you grab a cup of coffee or soda just to make it through to the next task. That only lasts for so long before it is time to recharge again.

Caffeine can give a tired mom the boost that she needs to help wake up and feel less exhausted. It is not, however, a substitute for a nutritious breakfast as it has become. Many moms have caffeine throughout the day just to make it to the next task at hand. Moms can become even more sleep deprived by having caffeine, a stimulant, too close to bedtime as it can make it challenging to fall sleep. You may also have to make middle-of-the-night bathroom trips being that caffeine is also a diuretic.

2. Do you crave sugary or starchy foods?

When moms are feeling deflated, they will reach for sugary or starchy foods. And why not? These foods tend to be on hand and in abundance when you have kids. These types of foods tend to metabolize quickly to give that sudden burst of energy by boosting blood sugar levels, then leave you wanting more when your sugar levels drop back to below normal levels. A tired mom may tend to eat many of these foods by snacking through the day with her children. When mom's body can not process the extra sugar or starch, it tends to get added onto the extra weight that did not come off after baby.

3. Are you nutrient deprived?

Nutrient shortcomings should be considered when you are a tired mom. Many moms get so busy with their baby and / or older children that they forget meals, or just simply run out of time. And what is the most missed meal? You guessed it – breakfast. Getting a nutritious breakfast gives mom the right start for her day with the energy she needs to tackle all those important tasks. She is, very likely, going to make better food choices throughout the day if started off right.

Being a mom can one of the most fun and rewarding experiences. Moms are required to have all and know all for their children. Just like a car, you can not accomplish what is needed if you leave your tank running on empty. There are better ways to get the energy you need to handle the ever building day-to-day responsibilities. By making a few small changes, you can make being a tired mom a thing of the past.

Did Stress Make You Gain Weight?

I recently asked a group of overweight women if they had a stressful event that precipitated their diagnosis and weight gain. The response was immediate and overwhelming. From losing a job, divorce, death of a parent, child or loved one, the vast majority could point to a single event that changed their health.

Stress can make an immediate, and powerful lasting negative change in your life and health.

How does stress make you gain weight?

Although the “common wisdom” tells you that you gain weight from over-eating, that is only one part of the puzzle. Think about it this way: do you feel good when you are stuffed? Absolutely not! Your body has an inborn mechanism to tell you how much to eat, and when to stop.

Part of the problem is, when you are multi-tasking, you are not paying attention to your body's signal of satiation. That makes you eat to excess. Most people will eat any of the food put on their dish. If you're at a buffet, you tend to eat more. It's “mindless” eating! Multi-tasking is actually stressful.

Other people say that that they love to eat, and that's why they eat too much. The fact is, once the brain is focused on solely on your meal, and you pay attention to your food: not a book, a phone call, the TV, work or anything else, your body will tell you when you've had enough to eat.

Stress can make you gain weight, and it frequently deposits itself around your middle. It's called “Belly Fat”. Under the effect of stress, your metabolism, and all systems in your body that function properly are put on alert. If your body does not need that system to deal with the stress like running away from a charging grizzly bear, the stress response will turn down that physiological system completely.

For instance, your immune system will be suppressed in favor of focusing all of your body's activities towards fight or flight. That's why when you are overworking and stressed out, that's the time you get a cold! Your immune system is suppressed from the stress!

It's the same with weight gain under stress. Your metabolism slows down, and even if you are not over-eating, you can gain weight from the stress alone!

Chronic Stress can kill you

It's been estimated that 95% of all dis-ease and visits to doctors are the result of stress.

Any condition you have is made worse by stress. But what do people say when they're told that they need to do stress relief? They say: “I do not have the time”. The less time you have, the more you need stress relief. Your choice: treat the stress, or lay in bed with illness created by the stress that forces you to take a break.

The best stress relief is anything that you will do daily. Slow breathing; taking a walk in nature; looking at photographs of calming scenes or of people you love; thinking about things for which you are grateful. These are just a few, quick stress reliever.

Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection can affect one or more parts of the urinary tract from the kidneys to the urethra. This infection is highly treatable with timely diagnosis and proper care.

Symptoms of urinary tract infection are more common in women as their urethra is smaller and closer to the anus (as compared to men). This makes the spreading of germs and bacteria easy, increasing the susceptibility to infection. In men urinary tract infections, though rare, are generally a symptom of some other underlying condition. It is also common in kids below 6 years of age. If the symptoms of a urinary tract infection are not treated well and in time, a simple infection can develop into a severe problem or even a life threatening complication like Sepsis or kidney damage.

It is extremely important to diagnose and treat these bacterial infections in the initial stages to avoid complications. This can be achieved only if the patient consults a doctor when he / she notices the very first symptoms of a urinary tract infection. Although all patients do not develop all the symptoms, there are cases where the infection exists without any noticeable symptoms whatever.

Here are some common signs experienced by most patients:

Pain or burning sensation while urinating.
Constant or increased urge to urinate but not much urination (passing of urine).
Feeling that the bladder is full even after urinating.
Discolored, bloody, cloudy or very smelly urine.
More frequent urination, even during the night.
Heaviness of the lower abdomen.
Nausea and vomiting.
Fever and chills.
Flank pain – pain on one side below the ropes where the kidneys are.
In elderly – mental changes or confusion
In men – rectal pain
In women – pelvic pain
In children – Newborns: fever, hypothermia, poor appetite, jaundice; Infants: fever, vomiting, lack of appetite, dirrhea; older children: poor appetite, unexplained fever, loss of bowel control, and change in urination pattern.

Different parts of the urinary tract give rise to different symptoms of urinary tract infection. For example flank or groin pain, fever, nausea is more common when kidney (s) is / are infected. An infected bladder is more likely to make urination painful and bloody along with pelvic / rectal pain and uneasiness. A burning sensation while urinating is generally associated with the infection of urethra. Many times the symptoms can be confused with those of a sexually transmitted disease (STD). So it is absolutely necessary to consult a doctor.

In most cases, the symptoms of these types of infections go away after a couple days of treatment but this does not indicate the alleviation of the infection. The prescribed course of medication needs to be completed for proper eradication of the infection or it is likely to recur and get severe.

Pregnant women may not get any visible symptoms of urinary tract infection although they are highly susceptible to it. So it is necessary that they are examined for it frequently during their prenatal checkups. A failure to do so might have serious consequences. The infection may spread to the patient's bloodstream and become life threatening. It can adversely affect the birth weight of the baby and has often been linked to newborn mortality.

Do not neglect even the slightest symptoms if you suspect a health related anomaly.

Surviving The Wait After An IVF Cycle

Finishing up an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle brings a whole host of emotions. You're happy that the procedure itself was successful and that the shots are finished or at least very great. You're ecstatic about having your life back, without the frequent blood draws, ultrasounds, and phone calls. On the other hand, you may feel adrift when the intensity is over and you've gone from constant monitoring to being almost ignored by your clinic.

Now it's time to wait for your pregnancy test. Because the test results will not be accurate for almost two weeks after your embryo transfer, this time period is often referred to by patients as “the two-week wait.”

Technically, you are Pregnant but Waiting for confirmation

From a purely technical perspective, after the embryos are placed into your uterus, you're pregnant – in the loosest sense of the word, at least. You have embryos floating around where they belong, and all they have to do is attach and grow.

This is probably the first time in your infertility history where you can say without a doubt that you've formed an embryo and that it is where it needs to be to grow. You may have known that you made a follicle, and were fairly sure that you got sperm where it needed to go at the right time, but you never knew for sure that the egg and sperm got together. Now you do.

Now comes the waiting period. The two-week wait is a time of “what ifs” and “if onlys” like no other time you've probably experienced. Because this is new territory for you, we give some ideas on how to make it through the two-week wait without driving yourself crazy.

Keeping yourself occupied

Although you may be tempted to just relax and wait, unencumbered by other responsibilities, the truth is that sitting around waiting is hard work, a lot harder than keeping yourself busy with everyday tasks. Waiting for water to boil and staring at it as well is a quick recipe for instant irritation, and so is staying idle during these two weeks.

Try to plan as many activities as you can manage (after your post-transfer rest period). If you work, consider it a blessing and immerse yourself in your responsibilities. Many women suggest reading a good book to get you through this time. Try to keep the book as far away from the topic of fertility as possible. Exercise is also a good way to keep busy, but keep it mild, like walking around the block. Many couples find that the two-week wait is a great time to take a vacation.

If the tension does begin to run high, assemble your backup plan. What will you do next, pregnant or not? This type of planning often alleviates the fear and uncertainty that accompanies the two-week wait.
